Residential Sprinkler Systems
Residential occupancies are buildings
designed to house people either as individuals or
in groups. These buildings tend to be larger, accommodate
more people and often have more complicated or lengthier
exits all contributing to increased evacuation times.
Residential sprinkler systems are designed to compensate for
this by operating for a longer period and at an increased
flow rate to that of a
Domestic Sprinklers to allow additional time for escape
or rescue.
Scotland already has legislation for residential new builds
to be protected by a sprinklers system. As their life saving
benefits are recognised for both occupant and rescuer, Fire
and Rescue Services in London and the whole of UK continue to push for compulsory
legislation in the rest of the country.
Examples of places we install Residential
Sprinkler Systems
- Sheltered Housing
- National Nursing Homes
- Private Care Facilities
- Hostels
- Shared Housing with communal entrance
- Flats and Student Accommodation
Reliability and Peace of Mind
Have confidence in knowing all work is carried out to the highest of industry and national standards by suitably qualified and experienced fire engineers.
- All systems comply with guide lines detailed in
BS9251:2005 for Residential occupancies, any deviation
agreed in advance by the AHJ and all work carries third
party accreditation.
- A chief fire engineer fully qualified in that specific field of installation is allocated to each project and all work is carried out by trained fire engineers to the relevant British Standards for the type of pipe etc.
Using only fully trained personnel from concept through to completion means we get the work right first time , on time and within budget.
Safe, Compliant and Cost Effective
Consulting Nimbus Fire Systems at the outset of your residential sprinkler project means we work alongside all parties involved including architects, builders, the AHJ, Fire & Rescue and Utilities, investigating all options and requirements to avoid costly alterations and delays later in the build.
Building costs can often be reduced by utilising our knowledge of residential fire sprinklers in conjunction with planning regulations and the possible trade-offs which can be achieved.
For example: -
- Reduce the requirement for fire or self closing doors
- Extend or negate the requirement for corridors
- Reduce requirements for structural fire protection
Environmental Factors
We offer a range of water recycling options, including rainwater harvesting systems. Following a successful survey we can utilise water other from sources other than the mains and standard tanks, including swimming pools, lakes and wells.
High Risk Areas - Fire/Fuel loading
Any area containing more potential fuel than considered
normal, which could combust in the event of a fire, e.g books,
video tape, industrial cooking facilities may be classed as
Commercial use and different standards will apply. BS 5306-2/BS
EN 12845.
We are qualified to design and install fire sprinkler systems in
all three areas Domestic, Residential and Commercial properties
and able to produce a fully compliant fire strategy for the
whole building or complex.
