Dry Risers

A Dry Riser is a pipework system which is designed to supply water to various outlet points around the building and on different floors in the event of a fire

The Fire service connect their appliance to the inlet which is usually at street level and water is then pumped to the various outlets to fight fires.

In a dry riser system the pipe is usually charged with air when not in use whereas some situations require that the pipework is pre-charged with water and these are called a wet riser systems
